Assessing a 3PL
2012-02-06
Inbound Logistics magazine has put together a brief 3PL assessment guide for potential outsourcers.
The guide is no doubt overly brief in its four points, but it might nevertheless be worth a read also in a 3PL office:
The first of the four guidelines reminds service buyers of the need for constant control, wich, sensibly done, is a good thing for the LSP as well.
The LSP offering constant optimization comes as number two.
Third, visibility and clear reporting.
Fourth, execution - and yes, a thing difficult to judge before you've seen it, but if there is not even a single reference case, then maybe you should send out RFPs to a few more players.
